Welcome to Pen and Paper Hamburg.
We are a DE / EN speaking player community in Hamburg, Germany.
Who are we?
We are a community of 160+ players, growing strong.
Where to find us?
Newcomers are best to get in touch by visiting the Pen & Paper munches of the
Wรผrfel & Zucker Boardgame Cafรฉ in Hamburg-Eilbek
hosted by our community leads.
You can find the events in the venues channel on Meetup.com.
Munches are alternating 1st WED/THU and 3rd TUE each month.
We provide links in our calendar.
Munches start with chatting before deciding on one-shot sessions of various systems. No worries about joining late. Feel free to bring your own ideas.
This community is not affiliated with the Boardgame Cafรฉ, although we promote it as the origin and focal point of our community. Our community lead admins are regular Pen & Paper GMs for the venue's official events on Meetup.com. On this platform, we keep in touch privately with players about Pen & Paper topics as a player exchange.
What is the difference from a Pen & Paper club?
A) We focus on being a Safe Space for LGBTQ+ and Neurodivergent people in fully supporting the Wรผrfel & Zucker LGBTQ+ friendly policy. We care about the integration of Newcomers. Whether youโre new to Pen & Paper, new in town, or new in Germany, everyone is welcome.
B) no membership fee (currently, more in due time)
What Pen & Paper Systems do you play?
Literally everything. We end up more on the less common side, due to the one-shot nature of sessions, best fitting into a Boardgame Cafรฉ.
Of course, you will find the occasional Dungeons & Dragons 5e one-shot. The group originates from hosting D&D 5e beginner sessions in German and English at Wรผrfel & Zucker after all.
You can regularly find
| RPGs | Micro RPGs |
| D&D 5e | Risus -The Anything RPG |
| Das Schwarze Auge | Honey Heist |
| Daggerheart | The Witch Is Dead |
| Mothership | Dark Planet |
| Blades In The Dark | 500 Year Old Vampire |
| Good Society | Lasers & Feelings |
| Paranoia |
What experience do I need?
None. Ask us anything. We provide you with largely the same experience for new players as joining a beginner session would offer.
Who will be there?
You'll likely be around other first timers, the pro hosts, some intermediates and advanced players, and seasoned GMs designing their own games or folks seeking to take coached first steps into GMing. We focus on building experience independently of TTRPG systems, enabling you to get a feel for system and playstyle differences and various GM styles, broadening your scope and choices.
